Friday marked the second official chillax of SMUSAIC exco. The first was on 5th Sept to Serangoon Gardens Country Club for Tennis. On the 12th of Sept 08 SMUSAIC exco went to Settlers’ in SMU!
Fridays seem to be the more busy and enjoyable for me. Today I had LOTSA of things going on for me!
First, was sports fiesta, the boyfriend and his friends formed a team called ‘Mr SMU and Friends’, and competed in Dodgeball and won! YAY! it was rather enjoyable watching them. But it seems like there werent many student supporters around at the event. Most of them were the participants.
Second, SMUSAIC had their inaugural photo-sharing session ‘All Together Now!’. It was a rather enjoyable session although a tad bit too long. But the photos shared were nice and had a great time on the whole!
Third, there was the Thank You Dinner by SMUSA (if i’m not wrong) and the Thai food that was catered was seriously not bad man…. Was pretty decent for catered food. Think its called Orchid Thai or something. Shall go check it out.
Fourth, SMUSAIC EXCO had a second chillax session at Settlers and boy did we enjoy ourselves! From Jenga, to Saboteur, UGLY UGLY UGLY and Dinosaur bones, it was REALLY fun and we had lots of good laughs. Most of the photos are with Nicholas so I cant post them. But really, its the pple tt make it fun la. Not the games. Friday Chillax looks to be a weekly thing! Next friday we’re heading to Timbre!
Why is it that I can get into the university but i cant get pass that stupid exam???
HAIZ. Today was a semi-good day only. Had some really great disappointment this morning. And then followed by a relatively relaxing and enjoyable driving lesson in the afternoon. Today’s instructor was less of a pilot and more of an observer. So that was good. At least I got to feel how its gonna be like on exam day.
Was in school for SIPF – Project Viewfinder project. So we students are to take a sponsored camera in week 5 and shoot on a theme – a day in the life of an SMU student. We’ll see how it goes! Seems quite fun to me!

So today I tried ‘The Alternative’ for the first time. And it was a really awkward, uncomfortable, unfathomable feeling. I even had to read the manual, and it was quite expensive.
Recently, I sent two of my new clothings for altering. One was at G2000 Black Label and the other was at Espirit. Both at Raffles City. However, despite the difference in the price range and target customer (G2000 Black Label being the more exclusive one), G2000 gave a much poorer performance than Espirit.
First time I went to Black Label to ask if my clothing was ready, the salesgirl just gave me a ‘Can’t you wait till we call you??’ face. I told her that I needed the clothing earlier than expected but all I got was a : We will call you when it arrives lah. It says on the receipt xx August wat.
Not to mention, I didnt even get a call from them.
Espirit was different. They were friendly and they were very willing to check up my alteration progress. Although they told me that it was expected to take 3 to 4 weeks, they would call if it arrived earlier. And they did!
So much for an exclusive label!

Looking forward to eating more mooncakes! Have had durian mooncake from Goodwood and Snowskin selection Mooncake from Fairmont Hotel ( old Raffles on Plaza ). Both were marvellous! Though really expensive. I find giving mooncakes as a ‘gesture’ of respect (or whatever) so pointless. Just purely supporting the ever inflating mooncake industry.
Had a driving lesson today. Considering I was still suffering from trauma in the morning since I nearly hit another car during my last lesson, today’s lesson was quite good. I’m progressing well. Quite fast I’d say. Just hope I’d pass my final theory soon!
Things have been getting quite hectic at school. Lots of homework to catch up on and lots of CCA duties to fulfil. Just serves to confirm what I have always knew. Things that I learnt about myself after all these years :
I can be really lazy sometimes
I find it very hard to reject people or speak up unless there really is a need
I don’t like people who say things they dont mean and say it for the sake of saying
Sometimes I just want to be alone….
Recently, there have been debates (if you can even call it debates) about changing SBS laws regarding child-fare paying. So, the 0.9m mark was considered too low cos children nowadays are growing at an unprecedented rate. What I understand is that SBS (i keep typing SMS) is unwilling to make changes because the fact is, not ALL children have grown so much as compared to yesteryears.
I think that SBS just wants to eat our money. It’s such a stupid determinant, to decide whether a child should pay based on his/her height. It’s not as if we can control how tall children grow!
You might as well say that senior citizens below 1.6m dont get privileges cos they are not tall enough to be considered ‘senior’. Cannot take it!

Today I had my TWC presentation. First presentation of the semester. It was OKAY. Not marvellous in terms of entertainment definitely. Didnt really have time to come up with something better. But well, been feeling very sore about some stuffs related to the project. I am not very sure what to do about it. I hope I had more courage to say something about it.
Have tried food from Treehouse over 2 occasions. Tried Beef Bolognese which was OKAY only… and today I tried Green Curry which was NOT BAD. Generally the food lacks variety. Only 6 things on the menu although the have ‘Today’s Special’s’ sometimes. Also, the rice was HARD. I dont mean hard as in cooked without enough water but I mean cooked but dried up cos it-was-left-in-the-open kinda hard
Met up with the A53 gang on friday for a little session of Jumbo Seafood! We had pepper crab and chili crab along with 15 mantous and cereal prawn, veg and scallop with yam. In myopinion, the food isnt much difernece from the east coast food centre. Except that over there the pepper crab seems much hotter (i dont mean spicier). Perhaps they just heated the black pepper crab up that’s all. Who knows. But it was a good time of catching up although there was only divyesh leslie jean shawn and didi. They went on to attent Baybeats and I was a pity I had the photog trail the next day so I didnt join them.
Well, for photog trail, I cannot say I thoroughly enjoyed myself. But it was still fun being there and preparing this trail for the participants. I guess the EXCO has bonded more over these events. I certainly feel closer to them already.
Recently, I have been wanting to do so many things. I want to play the violin, I want to take up piano lessons again, I want to pass my driving (ongoing process), I want to go on a holiday, I want to take up external dance classes blah blah blah. But I bet if i started on any of these apart from driving I wouldnt complete them. So let’s just finish driving first. HAHA.
So I went to the hairdresser and decided to get a haircut before school started. I told the woman I wanted to trim it shorter, and I want my fringe to be cut slightly, and change my hair parting. I also said that I DONT WANT BANGS. And I wanted my fringe slanted but shorter.
STUPID. She gave me BANGS. So see me in school tmr with ugly BANGS.
I told her TWICE during the haircut that I wanted my fringe SLANTED. But she gave me a straight cut BANGS. I gave up in her inability to take instructions. I then said I wanted my bangs thinner. She nodded. And then proceeded to just trim the length. WHAT ??? I really gave up.
YUCKS. My first ever hair disaster.
I just had my FIRST driving lesson on Monday. It was traumatic. Instead, I thought it was really fun ! BUT…. given my TALL stature, i had to use a cushion! : (
Nonetheless, the instructor even said I could go on the road the next lesson! Oh btw, I’m doing with the school. Feel that that would give me a better learning experience since most stuffs would be structured and nearly all bases would be covered.
I also had a meeting with my cell leader/s regarding certain issues followed by dinner with my cell mates. Christine Song was there too. She was back to visit from Australia!
Have not played much with my new camera, but took some shots here and there. Haven had much time to read the manuals too. But honestly, I’m not the kind who’d read every morsel of the manual. I rather learn by trail and error. Haha.
I realised too that i’m not very careful with keeping my money safe. Always losing or forgetting. Haiz. Pray taht God give me good memory!
