Got my acceptance letter from NTU yesterday, so now i have choices to make.
I’m afraid i don’t want to go to NTU solely cos of the distance and environment, which aren’t a very good reasons at all. And these two reasons are why i want/dont’s mind (i cant quite decide which word) to go to SMU.
This is just another crossroad of my life.
I wonder why, but SMU’s winning me over.
Maybe it’s cos i’ve studied very near home ever since nursery, never more than a 10 minutes drive from home to school. The distance that i would have to travel be it to ntu or nus is the same thing to me - INSANELY far. It puts me off.
But then again, social science at SMU is rather general as compared to Mass Comm at NTU. And would i be missing out on the ‘campus’ life that is supposedly enriched by hostel living and having a fenced up piece of land called campus. But i have also had enough of the ….. how do i say this… i’ve had enough of the singaporean-styled education.
But wait, let’s wait till NTU even tell me they want me. Haha.
Today’s the second consecutive day i’m staying back after work to finish ‘urgent’ work. I’m glad today’s a friday, cos who knows whether i’d create a record number of days staying back in the office if tmr was a working day.
Just in case you guys were wondering, I got accepted by SMU (school of social sciences) and am going for an interview tmr at NTU (school of comm and info). So, wish me luck. 2 weeks ago i’d have said i definitely want to go to NTU but now i’m not so sure. SMU is so convenient and attractive. I’d be in a dilemma if NTU accepts me too. But that doesn’t mean i don’t want NTU to accept me k.
My life has been revolving around the mundane routine of going to and knocking off work. But my work place is a landmine. With only my colleagues to hold and guide me. Honestly, what makes work better is the friends I have there. It beats away the fatigue, boredom and the unappreciative nature of the work (well, there are some exceptions).
I also learnt that i’m quite a picky person. Not in the sense of work but interpersonal relations. I gotta kick away this bad trait. It’s causing pple to get on my nerves. I don’t mean to not like the way the talk/react/complain but it really gets on my nerves sometimes. Is it just me or is it that person? HAIZ.
My eyes were still not well yet. Been about a week now. So, i decided to go and see a specialist! HOWEVER, THREE clinics’ doctors were ALL not in and i had to go all the way to SGH eye center. How troublesome. I wonder how much it would have cost elsewhere but it was expensive i must say. Well above $50 excluding medicine and cost of other necessary procedures. Medcine alone cost me $21. HAIZ. These doctors. Now i understand why pple complain abt the cost of healthcare. But then again, you have to pay for the air con, the good service, the equipments, and the years the doctor put into studying. Makes sense. But i still dunno why pple wanna be eye specialists, nothing about the eye excites me. If i were a specialist, i would be either a gynae or a heart specialist.
Genki was fun. So was ’shopping’.
I am so irritated by my sore eye. It still hasn’t fully recovered and it worsened today in the sense that it got really itchy and a little paiinful. To add on to that, m eyesight in my right eye seem to be deteriorating so dun be surprised if you see me with specs in the near future. Think i gotta resign to my fate. Been watching too much tv. I have one good eye and one bad bad eye now.
But please keep me in your prayer. I’m still believing for a miraculous healing. But Benny Hinn is really too inconvenient. haha. sorry.
So, again, may i remind you all to be thankful for normality.
I have sore eyes now… both eyes…. and i kinda look like the below… plus a bit of red and a nicer mouth and nose…… HAIZ.
We always cherish things only when we lose it.
And now i cherish non-itchy eyes cos i’ve been having verrry verrry itchy eyes. Even eye drops don’t work for me. Of cos, i’ve got itchy hands too, always scratching.
So please cherish everything from a non-aching thigh, a non-runny nose, non-itchy throat, to a non-sore breast (if applicable. haha!)
Phantom of the Opera was orgasmic!
Man, i cannot describe sufficiently in words how wonderful the show was. The chandelier, the masquerade, the singing, the music, the phantom, EVERYTHING!
And like what everybody say, the set was amazing. I am so in love with the show i dont mind paying hundred over bucks to watch it again.
Christine Daae was kinda plump though. But me sitting so far away, nvm lah huh. I strongly recommend that everyone buys tickets to this show. It’s such a one in a lifetime experience. I dare say it’s the best i’ve watched and it was really worth my $$.
