29th October 2006 (II)

It was my birthday… but i was being kind to my little neice and let her be the center of attraction for the day. And that was how my cake really looks like! That was the mini party my mummy prepared. Nothing much but full of love and warmth!

29th October

Today is the Day!!! Well, i really want to thank the great friends who wished me. Especially those who made the effort to wish me at 12am! Apart from Enjian, Daryl was the first to wish me! Thanks Alot Daryl. haha.. Also wanna thank Caroline for the call (cant wait to see your haircut!)

This is nearly exactly how my cake looked like! But ya… there were more candles. I got a chocolate banana cake from secret recipe. My oh my… extremely yummy! a little too much cream though. Wanna thank my mum for her efforts in making possible the little ‘party’ we had!

Btw, this  is for Denys (regardin crackin knuckles):

 While it may be annoying to those around us, and of great concern to many parents, most orthopedic surgeons believe that there is no harm in cracking your knuckles.  I believe that an occasional knuckle crack is fine and can be combined with some simple stretches.  I do not however suggest that you do this all day long especially if you are already hypermobile or loose jointed.

Things that GET on my nerves (Airport Series)

1. Delifrance isn’t from France and the still insist on doing silly things. (eg. substitute Kaya Toast with Le Tartine, or add a ‘le’ or a ‘de’ in front of EVERYTHING.)
2. Delifrance (Airport outlet) hiring staff who cant communicate with tourist properly/patiently (eg. “You want set or not Mdm?” or “Huh? 1 coffee 1 coke?” when the tourist clearly said 2 coffees and the waitress ending it off with a “Haiya”)
3. Passengers squeezing into the skytrain when there’s a big sign saying “Please let passengers alight before boarding”. It’s really hilarious how we need a reminder even . Quite an embarrassing thing to have at an INTERNATIONAL airport.
4. Above point happening at Tanah Merah Mrt Station + the fact that the train heading to the airport is leaving in 6 minutes!
5. Customers who come to Delifrance, seeing us students studying and give a “WAH! These students are taking up all the space meant for me!” look. Hello people, we are the taxpayers of the future paying for your expenses at the Aged Homes.

Wake me up when October ends

Thank you EnJian for the cake surprise and the 2 other new things you did for me! Thank you so much and i appreciate the effort you put in! It was fun house shopping too!

October has been a time of waiting, studying, longing and slacking. Firstly cos a special day is coming, and secondly cos A levels are coming. I don’t want to leave October. I’ve waited a whole year for October to come because of the special day. Leaving October means another year’s wait and the A levels. October is like a dream to me. Somewhere i want to be everytime of the year. It’s the sound of the word ‘October’ and its ‘content’ that makes it one of my favourite months in the year. Moreover, it’s Autumn and fern leaves are turning red and the weather growing cold. A great time for a cuppa hot tea and nice book in hand (all i have is my history notes and delifrance over-priced tea).

I like August and December too.

I want to fly, but it’s heavy, maybe 18 is still too young for the world.

   Qixin : Thank you so much for accompanying me on so many trips to Bishan!!! Tuition feels weird without you really. Feel so lost and nobody to go back with….. Haha. Thank you for your company for the past few months and the weeks to come. Hang in there mugger!

    Amoz, Andrew, Denys: Thank you guys for the fun filled airport session today. With the jokes about Mr. Sayers, Amoz’s emo-ness and preoccupation with occupatio, Andrew’s 3 referrals, Denys’ worn-for-2-days-in-a-row red mambo shirt, and his attempt to explain amoz’s demand and supply, the flying ikan bilis and the chocolate session!! THANK YOU!

    Btw, i am bent on losing some fats before Prom. It’s about time to start. BUT… a levels are coming so…. haha. We’ll see. someone give me motivation? (not ugly pictures with anorexic models please)

Dream come true!

    Joy’s right, there are so many incidents in our lives that makes us question things. Recently (as those who are close to me notice),  i’ve been wondering abt religion in particular. It’s not that i dun believe in God or wat but there are just too many questions left unanswered and so many contradictions. I’m still very much a believer but i really think that education has got me thinking so much more.

    Thanks to my dearest sissy, i was inspired by the photos of her black trenchcoat and bought one for myself too! haven taken a photo so cant really put it up here but i really love it. BUT… the thing is… i dunno when i’m gonna wear it actually. Sissy joy has a reason to buy it cos she’s going to Isreal but i… hmmm… maybe next year. Studied with her at the airport on friday and had a really great time! She has to be blamed for one thing though.. she introduced me to the yummy delifrance mini chocolate eclairs (hope i dun grow too fat!!) , but i’m glad i have her to share the potato gratin meal!

    I am really very thankful for Joy, she’s been a very very good friend, listening and sharing, loving chocolate with me, and helping me out through so many problems, how many of such friends can we find in a lifetime? We are so alike (that’s why we call each other sissy) haha.

Farewell VJC. BMI.

Well, it’s good bye to the place i called my second home for 2 years. Vjc was the first place i met a class which i really loved, stayed in school till past 10pm, trained so hard for my cca, studied like there’s no meaning in life, and played and played.

On a lighter note, i’ve got a tailor for my prom dress… but at the rate that i am eating and studying…. i am just crossing my fingers and wishing my tailor wont have to expand the waistline. THEREFORE, i am totally FOR the BANNING of models whose BMI is below 18!!! Honestly, wat’s the point in using stick insects when people who buy the clothings are actually normal people with normal built and skin, bones AND meat. Using sticks to model clothings in the fashion industry is turning people away from thinking ONCE, not even twice, about buying their clothings.

If Venus, the Goddess of Love and BEAUTY is plump, i dun see why there’s a need to be stick thin. (note: it’s not wrong to be thin, just not anorexic kinda thin)
